Learn Bitcoin

The basics of Bitcoin — and how to use it to get extra game credits.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is digital money that lives on the internet. No bank or company controls it — it runs on a network anyone can use. You hold it in a wallet (an app on your phone or computer) and send it directly to anyone, anywhere, at any time.

There will only ever be 21 000 000 (21 million) bitcoins, so as more people use it, each bitcoin becomes more valuable.

One bitcoin can be divided into 100 000 000 (100 million) tiny units called sats (short for satoshis), the same way that an euro or a dollar can be divided into cents.

How to get a little Bitcoin

  1. Get a wallet.

Install a Bitcoin wallet app on your smartphone or computer.

The wallet gives you a Bitcoin address — like an email address, but for money.

Bitcoin was created for people to hold their own money, so you control your wallet and your address.

Remember that with great power comes great responsibility — if you lose your wallet, you lose your Bitcoin. You can find a list of wallets at bitcoin.org.
  2. Buy a small amount.

Some wallet apps allow you to buy Bitcoin directly, but the easiest way is usually to use an exchange app. Exchanges are companies that let you buy and sell Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. You can find a list of exchanges at bitcoin.org.

Use the wallet app or use an exchange app to buy a few euros/dollars worth of Bitcoin with a card or bank transfer. Start small — you only need a little, but keep in mind that apps and exchanges charge fees for transferring money, especially if you use a card. The best way is usually to use a bank transfer.

  3. If you bought bitcoin on an exchange, withdraw it to your wallet.

The whole point of Bitcoin is that you control your own money. When you buy Bitcoin on an exchange, the exchange controls it for you.

While nowadays many exchanges are trustworthy, nothing beats having your own wallet, and it's the best way to learn how Bitcoin works. So it's best to withdraw your Bitcoin to your own wallet as soon as you can.

Remember that exchanges charge fees to withdraw, so it's best to buy a bit more than you need for credits and withdraw it to your wallet. Also, the withdrawal may take a few minutes, depending on the exchange and how busy the Bitcoin network is.

  4. Congratulations! You now have a little Bitcoin in your wallet. You have taken the first step into the world of Bitcoin. You can now use it to buy game credits on Crypto Classics or explore other ways to use it.

How to buy game credits

Every game here gives you free plays daily. When you want more, you can trade a few sats for extra credits — the same way you'd drop a coin in an arcade machine.

  1. In the game, open Get more credits and choose Buy with Bitcoin ₿.
  2. You'll see a Bitcoin address where you can send your sats to and the price in sats per credit.
  3. Send any amount of sats to the address.

Select "send" and then read the QR code with your wallet app or copy the address and paste it into your wallet app.

Even sending from your wallet, there are always fees to the Bitcoin network, so you'll spend a few more sats than the price of the credits.

Depending on the wallet, you may be able to adjust the fee to make it cheaper ( but slower ) or faster ( but more expensive ).

  4. Wait a few minutes.

Once the payment has been confirmed, your credits are added automatically. You can close the window and keep playing meanwhile.

Sent more than one credit's worth? The leftover sats stay on your balance and count toward your next credit. Nothing is lost.
